Buck Gee (Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation), Frank Wu (president of C-100) and Historian David Lei, with sponsorship by the Chinese Six Companies and the Chinese American Heritage Foundation, will gather to talk about Chinese Americans and Civil Rights as it pertains to Chinese American history.
The event will happen on Saturday August 31, 2019, from 1:00 to 5:30 pm at Victory Hall (owned by the Six Companies) - 827 Stockton Street. Topics will include the Bamboo Ceiling in the Silicon Valley, the future of civil rights, a 1 hour showing of a film on the Chinese Exclusion Act (with Chinese subtitles), and the historical Supreme Court Cases brought up by the Chinese Six Companies. Free admission.
