Dedication
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness to announce the passing of one of TACT’s founding members, Teong (Ted) Wong this April.
Ted grew up in the Mission District and graduated from Mission High School and went on to receive a Bachelor's degree from San Francisco State University. He was first and foremost an outstanding teacher who provided rigorous learning experiences for his students and encouraged them to question things and be problem solvers. Ted was proud to be a Chinese American and advocate for his community. He firmly believed that Chinese Americans should identify with the struggles and successes of their community. He was an enthusiastic founder of TACT and believed that the organization had the necessary leadership and knowledge to share with San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD). He contributed so much to the field of education, and he will be greatly missed and certainly remembered. TACT Executive Board 2024 Learn more about Ted at tactsf.org/ted |
